Objectives of the course: The tourism system & its modern potential. The tourist management system. Spatial units as vacation spots. Functions, organizations & activities & spatial units. Tourism development of spatial units through reception of tourists. Administrative decentralization & responsibilities. Central & decentralized administrations in tourism (greek & international experience). |

3. SYLLABUS

The course content includes: • Theoretical & empirical data of tourism as a productive, consuming & administrative system. • National tourism policy pursuits. • Examination of the regional dimension of tourism development (regions, municipalities, coastal zones, rural zones, mountainous areas). • Significance of spatial dimension for the formulation of integrated tourism development policy. • Comparative develpment framework of the administrative structure & organization of tourism (EU countries). • Sustainability & tourism. |
