2. LEARNING OUTCOMES

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are expected to be able to:
- Obtain basic knowledge for nature and specific topics of operational research such as decision making process and specifically studying cases studies of management organized systems
- Examine linear programming models studying relative problems
- Solve problems of linear programming by using simplex method and alternatives
- Solve specified problems of linear programming such as transportation and assignment
- Apply mathematical methods by using software package of linear programming.
- Find out and examine decision making criteria taking into account risk management and uncertainty theory.

3. SYLLABUS

The course content includes:

- Introduction in Business Research: Historical review, Business Research models, Types of models
- Linear programming, Simplex methodology and sensitivity analysis
- Integer and binary linear programming, problems and applications
- Specific problems of linear programming as transportation and assignment, solution methods
- Decision theory: decision criteria taking into account risk management and uncertainty theory
- Game theory and decision trees methodology

USE OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY
Learning specific software in lab for projects implementation. The software is easily shared via internet link and students have the possibility to practice with it and work independently.
