Μαθησιακά Αποτελέσματα

The objective of the course is to offer a comprehensive approach to the theory and practice of crisis management in institutions, organizations, and society, based on international case studies and existing literature. It focuses on administrative efforts and the role of communication in addressing the challenges posed by crisis events, as well as the development of preventive systems and readiness for managing future problems and crises.

Upon completion of the course, students are expected to be able to:

• Define the scope of crises.
• Recognize the conditions that may lead to crisis situations.
• Identify various sources or focal points of crises.
• Identify various forms of crises.
• Identify the characteristics and parameters of a crisis.
• Develop a comprehensive crisis management plan.
• Plan the necessary preparedness actions in case of a crisis.
• Design communication tools for crisis management.
• Create Public Relations programs.
• Evaluate the conclusions arising from the crisis.
• Analyze potential crisis incidents

The course content includes:
• Disasters and Crises: Undesirable and critical situations or events that cause serious dissatisfaction or impacts.
• Risk assessment and management
• Calculating the impacts of a crisis
• Warning systems - Reducing crises and the impacts of crises
• The nature of Organizational crises
• Preparedness
• Crises at the local, national, and regional level
• Crisis situations affecting communities, national governments, or regional authorities.
• Crises at the level of Agencies and Organizations
• Crisis situations affecting the operation or survival of an agency or organization.
• Planning for Crisis Management: Planning process for effectively managing crises before they occur.
• Personnel training, health, and safety: Training personnel on health and safety in the workplace.
• Communication and Media: Interaction and communication with the mass media.
• Public Relations: Managing relations with the public and publicity.
• Exogenous factors affecting agencies and organizations: Factors outside agencies and organizations that influence their operation.
